We are Petra and Michal, two Slovaks who have recently left Slovakia. While the decision to leave was easy to make, it took quite a bit longer to actually pull off. We are rebuilding our lives together in the capital of Canada (if you thought that was Toronto until now, shame on you!), and we firmly believe that the plane ticket truly was one-way.

This website is primarily written by Petra. I have no idea how long I’ll enjoy writing here, but I have plenty of topics for now :). Gradually, in addition to my emotional outbursts, you’ll find practical information about visas and daily life—things we sorely missed while preparing for our departure.
